New help is always welcomed and appreciated.

Through volunteering with Power Squadron, you gain the opportunity to
- contribute to the boating community
- meet new people who share a common interest in boating
- apply current skills and perhaps develop new ones
- network with other boaters and share resources and knowledge
- acquire personal satisfaction from being involved and making a difference
- gain experience in Power Squadron which may be applicable to work-related skills or resume additions

What's involved?
Attending Squadron Bridge meetings and possibly training sessions.
Planning and attending social events for the squadron members and students (could be onshore or afloat) such as Safe Boating Graduation celebrations.

How much time would it take?
Approximately 3 hours a month, September to May.

Why is it important?
Creating social activities for the Squadron is an important element in Squadron dynamics.

Characteristics of Boats
Licensing and Registration
Introduction to Plotting
Plotting and Labelling
Navigation
What's involved?
Presenting course material on a topic to the class and answering their questions during the lesson.

How much time would it take?
Varies. Each class is approximately 2 hours long, and the amount of preparation time varies for each lesson and each instructor.
Much of the materials and visual aids are available, or you can create your own if you prefer.
The Training Officer and other Bridge members are on hand to provide guidance and advice.

Why is it important?
Our purpose is to promote safe boating and provide instruction in marine techniques.
CPS relies on volunteers to deliver courses to promote safe boating.
Your knowledge and experience is valuable to the students.
A variety of instructors and teaching methods is desirable in the program, and helps to lighten the load of all instructors and the Training Officer.
