Princess Louisa Inlet
Summer 2007
Ugly weather you ask? This was about 0830 in the morning about to leave Princess Louisa Inlet as I was getting in line with the 20 other boats that decided to leave. We were sixth in line. The clouds were nearly on the deck with light to heavy rain.

Chatterbox Falls

This is Chatterbox Falls from in front. The boat was at the dock so used the dinghy to get this shot. |

Princess Louisa Inlet
Summer 2007
The view of Princess Louisa Inlet from the base of Chatterbox Falls. The roar from the falls can be heard well down the inlet. That is mist from the falls in the picture not clouds. There is a sign warning the danger of climbing the slippery rocks here and up the falls. The sign noted twelve people had been killed falling from the falls. Number thirteen was recorded days after leaving. |

Pacific White-sided Dolphins
Photo taken from the bow of Morgan le Fay in the crystal clear waters of the Broughton Archipelago near the north end of Vancouver Island. These two were part of a massive pod of dolphins which stretched across the full width of the channel and took nearly an hour to pass. No matter where you looked, there were several in the air at once, continuously. Viewed carefully, a third dolphin can be barely seen going the opposite direction underwater of the lower of the two which are jumping. |

Toba Falls
10m long with 14m high mast, S/V Morgan le Fay is dwarfed by this unnamed waterfall at the entrance to Toba Inlet in northern Desolation Sound. Yes, that is the true colour of the water which comes from glaciers many miles away. The sediment and fresh/salt mixture makes depth sounders unreliable, but there was about 160m under the boat only 6m from shore! |
